Vox Populi 001', meaning voice of the people in latin, is the first EP from the newly established Berlin-based label, Vox Populi Records. This compilation Single features three tracks from various artists and focuses on creating a narrative moved by two forces, night and day. Vox Populi 001' takes you out of your ordinary mindset and into a parallel universe, playing on the harmonic dualities of light and dark. The opening track Groom Lake' titled after Area 51, provides a sensory experience guiding the listener through images of erupting volcanoes, magma and smoke filled skies to an abandoned factory setting where humanoid robots dance. A dance floor-ready track, overflowing with hypnotic, metallic sounds juxtaposed against rhythmic tribal drums. In the midst of the storm, comes Alarm Clock', a track that floats between twisted rhythms and uplifting melodies. Lush and light, ordained with vocal samples, this track is magnetic. Pulling you in, as you gravitate towards the dance floor. Subsistence' is a fusion of effortless boomy bass- lines and heavy grooves. Building and releasing tension, eventually coming to a solemn resolution. Vox Populi 001' transcends the boundaries of genre confinements and takes the listener on an journey. An exclusive release consisting of entirely new material. This vinyl reflects all the intricacies of the labels unique character.
